In this paper, a new redundant scalable CORDIC-like architecture is proposed for the implementation of fast rotation. The sequential nature of the conventional CORDIC algorithm in determining the direction of rotations is eliminated by computing the directions from the target angle. The proposed architecture offers high regularity and modularity. Detailed comparisons with other contributions shows that the proposed CORDIC-like fast rotator achieves 40% to 80% latency improvementen_US
