This paper introduces a novel application of artificial bee colony (ABC) in designing the coordinated Power System Stabilizer (PSS) with Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC) based Controller to improve the transient stability of single machine connected to infinite bus through transmission line. Various simulation results and comparisons over different loading conditions on a single machine infinite bus power system shows the superiority of ABC in designing the coordinated controller.en_US
