A new, simple and convenient procedure for the synthesis of novel selanyl tetrazoles has been developed by one-pot three-component reaction of phenacyl bromides/3-(2-bromoacetyl)coumarins with KSeCN and NaN3 using [Bmim]BF4 ionic liquid. The protocol proves to be efficient and environmentally benign in terms of good yields, low reaction times, simple work-up, ease of recovery, and reusability of reaction medium (ionic liquid).en_US
