Switching transients in wind farms are initiated by the action of circuit breakers during energization and deenergization events and also during occurrences and clearing of faults. In this paper, an investigation of transient and temporary overvoltages during wind farm switching events have been carried out by considering modeling methodology for all the main components in a practical wind farm. The study is important in order to account the frequency interaction within different components which arise during transients. Coefficient of grounding is used to exhibit the effectiveness of system grounding.en_US
