| dc.description.abstract | Physical and spectral properties like density, optical absorption, infrared and ESR spectral studies are measured for lead fluorophosphate glasses doped with molybdenum ions. The melt quenching technique was used for the preparation of standard samples of PbOeZnF2eP2O5 glass system in the compositional series containing 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.8 and 1.0 mol% of molybdenum. Spectroscopic studies, ESR, optical absorption and IR reveal the presence of molybdenum ions with the MoO4 and MoO6 structural groups in these glasses. The oxidation state of molybdenum are mostly existing in Mo5þ up to 0.2 mol% beyond that concentration exist in Mo6þ state. | en_US |
