Abstract: This paper presents a configuration for the high gain boost converter with coupled inductor and switched capacitor and also gives the improved version for the proposed configuration. The proposed converter has wide input voltage band-width due to its high gain feature. The given converter also has optimum number of components that are optimally utilized. The proposed converter uses coupled inductor and switch capacitor technique to achieve high gain. It energizes the passive components in parallel and de-energizes them in series to achieve higher gain. The proposed converter has the advantage of low output voltage ripple, low voltage stress across the boost switch and low inductor current ripple. To further improve the performance and gain of the proposed topology, a clamping circuit is added, which restricts the main switch voltage to a value close to input voltage during turn-off and pumps the leakage inductor energy directly into the output that enhances the efficiency. The operating principle, analysis and simulation results are presented.
