Abstract: | This purpose of this study was to model the existing bus scenarios in network in Hyderabad for various development VISUM in order to measure the improvements in the base network (e.g. improvement in accessibility of public transport user to bus stops in the study area and improvements with respect to operator, operating the public transport system in the study area). For the base scenario, existing network was analysed in order to discover deficiencies accordingly several parameters, e.g. number of service trips, area coverage by public transport, passenger volumes, volume capacity ratio were assessed using various graphical options, the Planung Transport Verkehr (PTV) Vision package offers. From the analysis of base network two major potential bus corridors were identified in the study area. Suggestions (e.g. providing new bus stops, rerouting of line routes in order to improve accessibility and transfer terminals to the high capacity bus systems) were proposed to improve bus network within in the study area for the planning scenario. Finally impacts of improvements in the network due to suggestions proposed were measured in terms of number of service trips, area coverage by transit system, operating fleet and service kilometres. |
