| dc.description.abstract | Ah-meter in India and many other countries is generally used for informative purposes, such as, showing of current consumption. The currently available devices are analog version and hence not accurate and consumer-friendly. A low cost RFID-based Ah-meter system has been developed which not only displays updated Ah-credit value with the load current consumption but also has secure recharging facility. The required current for the load is delivered through the circuit only when credit is available and could ultimately be used as a bypass between electricity generated by solar panel and the load. The device also has additional facilities like protection against voltage fluctuations and efficient usage of non-volatile memory for periodic data storage. As the novel system uses digital technology with in-built features like protection of code memory tampering with the meter is very difficult and hence would prohibit fraudulent practices. | en_US |
