dc.description.abstract | The author [3] showed that an exact solution for this problem can be obtained only when the ratio p (= radius of the circular plate in the deformed state / the radius of the spherical shell) is so small that sin p can be replaced by p. In this paper an attempt has been made to consider the bending of a circular plate into a part of an ellipsoid of revolution. The case of a circular plate bent into a part of a spherical shell [3] can be obtained as a particular case. | en_US |
