In this note, we study the pulsating flow superposed on the steady laminar motion of a second order viscous liquid between two parallel plates. The principal flow characters such as the mean velocity, skin friction, mean rate of work done by the internal friction, the coefficient of excess of work have been examined. The results have been obtained in terms of a non-dimensional non-Newtonian parameter e. The flow for large frequencies has a boundary layer character. The results for the flow with a single Fourier component are illustrated and discussed in detail.en_US
