dc.description.abstracthe motion of a micropolar incompressible fluid arising from the rectilinear oscillation of a circular cylinder is examined. The velocity, micro-rotation, stress and couple stress components are ex- pressed in terms of the modified Bessel functions with complex arguments. The force on the cylinder is obtained. It is found that it does not experience any couple.en_US
