| dc.description.abstract | In this work, a unique high voltage gain DC-DC converter with hierarchical control and integration with a Permanent Magnet DC (PMDC) motor is presented for use in electric vehicle (EV) applications. The proposed system aims to achieve improved energy conversion efficiency and overall propulsion system performance compared to conventional methods. The DC-DC converter efficiently regulates the voltage from the EV battery pack to precisely match the requirements of the PMDC motor. A hierarchical-based control algorithm enables precise modulation of the converter's duty cycle, leading to seamless power delivery and effective energy utilization. Additionally, a closed-loop control strategy implemented via the DSP controller incorporates feedback from sensors monitoring critical motor parameters like speed, current, and voltage. This real-time feedback allows for adjustments, ensuring stable and efficient operation under varying load conditions. The performance of the proposed system, including efficiency and power density, will be thoroughly evaluated through comprehensive simulation studies and experimental validation. Comparative analyses against conventional control strategies will be conducted to highlight the advantages of the hierarchical-based approach, paving the way for more efficient and reliable EV propulsion systems in the future. | en_US |
